No, no, no, I didn't attempt to murder anyone
(I'm much more resourceful and capable and would never leave anything at just "attempted")
So....here are the salient points:
My wife is a recovering addict. She grew up poor (food stamps, Section 8) in inner city Baltimore. She had no chance and it was almost inevitable that opiates would find her. Her old sister died of an overdose, but by that time, her addiction was a full fledged disease. She's smart too, full ride to Johns Hopkins smart, but no match for drugs that rewire the user's brain chemistry. Managing sobriety is now just a part of who she is.
In this case, I had to have a very persuasive (forceful) conversation with a drug dealer to get him out of her life. There were no weapons, no stabbing, no nothing. That's why ALL THE CHARGES WERE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED. Obviously, I don't have a criminal record whatsover. But you wouldn't know that due to inaccurate reporting by an irresponsible online journalist who refused to follow up, remove his Tweet, or print an update.
I'll may get into all the entertaining details later. (If you just can't wait, call me.) For those of you unfamiliar with substance abuse, it's a day to day battle. She will be sober for years, and then get triggered and relapse out of the blue. I've developed a pretty good radar to spot the warning signs and I jump in and do anything and everything that is required to help her stay sober. She would do anything for me, and it's the least I can do to support and help her as needed.
We have 364 great days a year, and one bad one, but still the best relationship I have ever had.
The nonsense Tweet (including my ugly grinning mugshot) is what it is. I wasn't going to let a troll Tweeter control the narrative.
Meanwhile the war on drugs continues and the internet remains undefeated.
